Our engagement

Sustainability at Magnolia Consulting

As a consulting firm for sustainability, we see it as a core responsibility to lead by example. Despite our size as a boutique consultancy, we are aware of our responsibility toward people and the environment and aim to communicate transparently about our progress and challenges.

The path to sustainability is a continuous process that requires ongoing commitment. Therefore, we strive to keep evolving and to continuously improve our operational sustainability efforts alongside the sustainability consulting we provide for our clients.

Our contribution to the SDGs

Our sustainability activities are closely linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The following are particularly relevant to our business model and work:

Sustainability Report

For the 2024 financial year, we are publishing, for the first time, a sustainability report according to the ‘Voluntary Standard for Non-Listed Micro-, Small-, and Medium-Sized Undertakings’ (VSME) in its draft version from 12/2024. This report transparently documents our progress and challenges across all ESG areas.

Memberships

Magnolia is a member of B.A.U.M. e.V. (Bundesdeutscher Arbeitskreis für Umweltbewusstes Management), one of the oldest and largest environmental initiatives in the German business community. Founded in 1984, this association now brings together around 860 members and serves as an influential voice for sustainably operating companies at both the national and European levels.

hrough this membership, we contribute to a valuable exchange of experiences with other sustainability-oriented companies, thereby promoting the socio-ecological market economy. Networking within B.A.U.M. e.V. allows us to continuously advance our own sustainability efforts while also bringing our expertise into this important network.

Outlook

In the coming years, we will increasingly focus on making a positive impact—both by consistently advancing our own sustainability practices and by deliberately supporting our clients in reducing their ecological footprint and transforming their business models.

We are aware that much remains to be done. The advancing climate crisis, increasing resource scarcity, and social inequality demand our consistent action and innovative solutions—especially in an environment of geopolitical tensions and sometimes conflicting regulatory developments. Now is precisely the time to act, not in spite of, but because of the regulatory challenges in the field of sustainability.
